With great pleasure and emotion  I report that the Minor Planet Center has named after me the asteroid 1999 SN9, discovered by Franco Mallia, at Campo Catino Astronomical Observatory, on Sept. the 29th, 1999. Below I report the orbital elements; the body is about 2 -5 km in diameter and its mean distance from the Sun is about 357 million km. Above it is visible the orbit of the asteroid (21795) - Masi.

This honor comes after more than two decades of astronomical activities, with  a lot of emotions and successfully observations  and gives me the energy to go ahead in  this great adventure.

E' con grande piacere ed emozione che annuncio che il Minor Planet Center ha assegnato il mio cognome all'asteroide 1999 SN9, scoperto da Franco Mallia, dell'Osservatorio Astronomico di Campo Catino, il 29 settembre del 1999. Seguono  i suoi elementi orbitali; l'oggetto ha un diametro stimato tra i 2 e i 5 chilometri, orbitando ad una distanza media dal Sole di circa 357 milioni di km. In alto è visibile l'orbita di (21795) - Masi.

Questo riconoscimento viene a distanza di tantissimi anni dai primi momenti di attivita' astronomica, ricchi di emozioni e soddisfazioni e mi sprona a proseguire con immutato entusiasmo questa straordinaria avventura.
